The weather in the South Bay was gorgeous this weekend! 75 degrees, sunny, and not a cloud in sight. It was crystal clear..we could see all the way from Malibu to Catalina Island..usually it's covered up by smog or haze! In light of the beautiful weather, Scott and I went for brunch in Manhattan Beach on Saturday at The Local Yolk.
Fellow Wildcats live there!
This was probably my favorite part of the meal. A homemade, warm biscuit with butter and honeybear honey.
Mmmmm....biscuit.
The "LA" omelet; green onions, mushrooms, and jack cheese topped with avocado.
Crab and avocado eggs benedict.
A wonderful breakfast to kickstart a wonderful weekend. I can only hope the weather stays like this!

BDay in DTLA
It was Scott's birthday over the weekend and some Tucson friends came into town to celebrate. We ventured to downtown Los Angeles for dinner at Bottega Louie, Scott's favorite restaurant. Being that it was a Saturday, the place was a zoo! Almost a two hour wait, but totally worth it (and it gave me the opportunity to snap some photos of the dessert display).
So many macaroons!
Such a fun night! Birthdays are so much better when you're surrounded by friends, and I'm so happy that Scott had his best buds with him on his special day.

A Stroll on the Promenade
Some friends were in town from Tucson visiting, so Scott and I decided to take them to Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica for some brunch and shopping. We stopped at The Misfit for brunch where we cured our handovers with spicy bloody marys and delicious food.
Poached egg with prosciutto and arugula.
Misfit burger with fried egg.
Scott & Candy Cane
After a satisfying brunch, we continued our stroll.
Scott and his brother Chris
Dino-bush!
Aaand then we ended up at a famous gastropub, Barney's Beanery for cider. They had a TON of TVs with every single game imaginable playing. They even had a womens hockey game on. I didn't even know womens hockey existed.
Cool license plate ceiling.
After our Santa Monica adventure, we drove by the beach and I took this beautiful shot. Probably one of the most calming areas of Los Angeles, in my humble opinion.

SusieCakes
I came home from work and there was a cute lil box with three cupcakes from SusieCakes, a bakery in Manhattan Beach that I've been wanting to try. Oh. My. God. They were super yummy! Scott ventured to say that it was the best cupcakes he's ever had. I side with him on that.
Red velvet (my favorite), peanut butter, and luscious lemon. Mmmmmmmm.

Anniversary
One year ago today Scott flew me out to San Francisco under the impression that we were there to celebrate his birthday. Instead, he took me to the Top of the Mark, got done on one knee and proposed. I was floating on a romantical cloud nine for the whole weekend. I truly love this man and can't wait to spend forever with him

Puppies, fiances, & wine
I got a prezzie in the mail...it's a Canon Rebel 2Ti. Woo! With a 50mm f/1.8 lens. Below are my first shots. Keep in mind, I have no idea what I am doing yet. My practice sesh was with what I had in sight which was my puppy Sophie, Scott, and a couple glasses of Merlot.
Low light...this was my first manual photo. Wasn't sure about aperture. But I had to post. Look at that face!
