SF Pride 2012

Scott and I decided to venture into the city on Sunday to experience the vibe of Pride in San Francisco.  I have never experienced quite an event as colorful and exciting as Pride and I think Scott and I underestimated how awesome it would be.  Thousands and thousands of people were there, in their brighest attire..of course I was wearing a black shirt and jeans, I"ll prepare better next year!  The black market was in full effect...$2 beers were being sold out of coolers on the sidewalk, and people were holding tupperware full of pot brownies and walking through the crowds trying to sell their freshly baked goods.

Something I was unaware of before moving to San Francisco is that it is completely legal for someone to be naked in public.  Man...did we see some naked men (and women), some were on roller skates, and some were in hooker heels.  It was quite a sight to see, but after the 5th naked man...it started to loose its excitement.  The locals have told us that you get used to it pretty quickly!

Chipotle Pride!

naked..

met these guys waiting in line for the bathroom, this is our "I gotta pee" pose
After braving the craziness of Pride, we decided to escape it all and head to the Embarcadero to a place called Waterbar for oysters and a beer before heading back home.

A good photo to end on :)

a little peice of heaven

Reason #251 of why I love the Bay Area:  40 miles away from delicious wine and beautiful views!

Scott and I were lucky enough to spend the weekend up in Healdsberg at his bosses vineyard.  Healdsberg is a small and charming town in wine country, just north of Santa Rosa and close to the Russian River.  The house on the property is my ultimate dream house.  Everywhere you would turn, you saw lines of grapevines and gorgeous greenery,  They have a gigantic garden that looks exactly like Ina Garten's from Barefoot Contessa...strawberries, herbs, tomatoes, snap peas....everything!  We brought Sophie with us, and she had a ball!  She loved being off-leash and running around in the grass and exploring on her own.  She was such a good girl.

Scott's boss had some friends visiting as well, so we hung around the pool, barbequed, drank some of the best wine I've tasted, and listened to music. We stayed in a redone apartment located above the barn that had a beautiful view of the property.  Being on the second story made for some awesome photos....

See what I mean?  I felt like I was in a postcard.

We killed this, along with three more bottles!  Yikes!

Dan said this was the best sunset he has ever seen at the vineyard, I'm happy we were there to see it!  These photos do not do justice, the colors were amazing!

I'm loving the family photo, might have to frame that one!  I'm counting the weeks, days, and minutes until we can go back.  I love wine country!
